Molo Member of Parliament lost properties and investments worth millions in a raid at his rural home on Tuesday, 25 June.
Upon assessment of the damage, it was revealed that three vehicles were affected, two of which were completely burned — a hatchback and an off-road car (Land Cruiser).
The third vehicle, a double cabin pickup, sustained damage from stones.
Additionally, the MP lost 10,000 chickens that were being reared on his compound.
During the demonstrations, some individuals stole some chickens, and 200 more were burned during the incident on Tuesday.
Additionally, six grade cows and 29 goats were reported stolen, but following police investigations, four cows were recovered. Unfortunately, one cow had already been slaughtered. Police were also in the process of tracing and recovering the goats.
The MP's main house in Molo will require significant repairs after locals smashed the windows of his two-storey residence.
Residents of Molo raided the MP's home following his support for the contentious Finance Bill 2024, which sparked nationwide protests.
Notably, Kuria also served as the chairperson of the Finance Committee and was the initiator of the Bill, which is set to be officially withdrawn from Parliament.
"Having reflected keenly on the conversation surrounding the bill and listening to the people of Kenya who have said they want nothing to do with the Bill.
"I concede and therefore I will not sign the bill. It will be subsequently withdrawn and that becomes our position," President William Ruto announced after a meeting with MPs.
