The family of photographer Kabatila Munyithya alias Kavat appealed for information on the whereabouts of their son who went missing five days ago.
Speaking during an interview with Kenyans.co.ke Kabatilia’s mother revealed that the photographer was abducted on Thursday and is yet to be seen since.
The photographer was actively involved in the recent protests.
Kabatila’s mother detailed that the photographer received a written death threat on his door three days earlier when he arrived home.
“When he got home, he found his cat playing with a paper on his door and the paper was addressed to Ras. He has dreadlocks,” stated the mother.
The photographer later reported the incident to the police but no action was taken.
According to the family, Kabatila was however furnished with an Inspector’s number to call in case anything happened to him but the case was not booked in the Occurrence Book.
Three days after filing the report, Kabatila is said to have gone missing on June 27 at around 10:00 pm.
His mother reported that Kabatila’s roommate had relayed that the photographer came home at midnight to only to find the gate locked, the house door was however not closed.
The photographer is yet to be found and was last seen close to Embulbul Secondary School in Ngong, Kajiado County.
His family has reported looking for the photographer across several police stations in Ngong and Nairobi.
Additionally, the family is yet to receive any information on his wellbeing, his status or where he is being held.
