On Wednesday, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service issued a notice to close the portal for applications for the Kenya Medical and Training College.
KUCCPS, in a statement, announced that the portal for the applications will close on July 12, after which applicants willing to join KMTC colleges across the country will be locked out.
“Seeking an opportunity to join KMTC starting September 2024? The KUCCPS application portal for placement to KMTC will close on July 12, 2024!” read the notice.
KUCCPS further announced that students who had applied for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses could view their application status on the portal.
The Service also issued a list of 23 courses that students can apply to study at KMTC campuses.
The list contains both Certificate and Diploma courses with which the Placement Service has set cluster points available on the portal.
Under the engineering category, students can study for a Certificate in Medical Engineering or a Diploma.
Other certificate courses that learners can pursue include a Certificate in Health Records And Information Technology, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine and Community Health Assistants.
Additionally, one can also take up a certificate course in Nutrition And Dietetics or Medical Emergency Technician.
Diploma Courses in Health Records And Information Technology, Public Health, Health Counselling and physiotherapy are also available on campuses.
In addition, students willing to undertake a course in Optometry and dental technology are also advised to apply.
This comes after the deadline for the inter-institutional transfer for students placed in degree courses lapsed on July 4.
