NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua on Sunday slammed President William Ruto over his remarks after the Head of State vowed to clamp down on criminal elements hijacking recent demonstrations to perpetuate anarchy in the country.
Karua who took to her X account, continued her onslaught on the government noting that the Head of State was displaying unwarranted bravado through his public pronouncements.
"Ruto talking like owns Kenya exclusively," Karua stated.
Earlier on in the day, President Ruto, after attending a church service at Chebango in Bomet County vowed to do everything in his power to protect the nation and maintain law and order.
Ruto revealed that he had listened and acted to the different issues Kenyans had raised and it was now time to move on and allow normalcy to be restored.
The Head of State while making his remarks called on those who are opposed to his ideologies to come on board to allow the issues at hand be resolved amicably and in a democratic way.
"Enough is enough, it cannot continue like this because the country is bigger than any group of people. We must stand together as a nation protect our nation and make sure that Kenya is a democracy."
President Ruto had earlier on in the week accused foreign players of funding protests in Kenya to cause anarchy. The Head of State particularly fired a warning to New York based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) The Ford Foundation.
Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary would subsequently, in a letter to the NGO demand that the organisation furnish the government with a list of all the organisations it was funding in Kenya and the nature of activities they were engaging in.
In a rejoinder, The Ford Foundation would however deny that it was financing protests in Kenya and directed the government to its website where all beneficiaries of its grants are listed.
This comes even as the country braces itself for another round of protests set to be staged on Tuesday.
The protests that have been branded #OccupyEverywhere and mounted in the last month are aimed at demanding accountability from the government.
