Local leaders have called on the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Kithure Kindiki to intensify security operations in the restive region.

Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani in a post asked for the deployment of more security personnel to protect residents in the area.

“We appeal to CS Interior to deploy more security personnel to protect this border community,” Yatani said on his official social media accounts.

The attack comes as Kenya continues to deploy the Kenya Defence Forces to neighbouring countries to quell attacks in its borders.
