Former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala on Tuesday alleged the abduction of a section of his family members by unknown people.
In a brief statement, the vocal politician disclosed that his son and his 19-year-old brother-in-law were on Monday night abducted at gunpoint.
According to the former Kakamega Senator, the duo were tortured for about six hours in an attempt to compel them to reveal his whereabouts.
While detailing the incident, Malala further alleged that the two were later dumped along Thika Road after the alleged assailants failed to trace him.

"They were tortured for six hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence in Kitengela," Malala alleged.
"After failing to find me or my spouse at home they dumped the two along Thika Road; I have picked them up safe but traumatised and shaken," he added.
Malala's claims come barely two days after he named two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members who he claimed had been contacted to spearhead Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment.
Speaking at a church service in Thika, Kiambu County, the former lawmaker accused Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Homa Bay town legislator Peter Kaluma of plotting to table a motion against the deputy president.
Malala went ahead to warn President Ruto that turning against his deputy would in the long run lead to the president's ouster.
“I have been informed that the MPs being fronted to table the impeachment motion against Gachagua are Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma. I’m telling you, Mr President, those MPs will start by impeaching Gachagua, and then they will turn against you in 2027," Malala stated.
Malala's sentiments were echoed by Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba who alleged that plans to impeach the second in command were already underway, warning of significant consequences to President Ruto's administration.
"There are some elements that wake up every day with a plot on how to ensure you (Rigathi Gachagua) don't succeed," Wamuchomba claimed.
"Those are the same people who have come together with leaders from ODM to bring a motion to impeach Rigathi Gachagua next week," she added.
