It was high drama on Saturday, October 12 when revellers heckled Senior Economic Advisor Moses Kuria forcing him to cut short his speech at an entertainment event.

The incident took place at SNL Lounge in in Githurai 44, Nairobi County during the launch of a song by Mugithi artist Tony Young where the former cabinet secretary was in attendance.

Everything was going smoothly until the emcee decided to invite Moses Kuria to address the crowd. Things took a dramatic turn as the crowd booed him chanting in unison “Riggy G" and other anti-government slogans.

The irate revellers continuously chanted anti-President William Ruto's slogans seemingly in protest of the push to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Moses Kuria was forced to end his speech after a few minutes as the charged-up revellers raised their voices against him.

Donned in a black hood, Kuria who is the economic advisor to the president received this hostile reception with shock as he left the stage.

Moses Kuria is the latest politician in the Kenya Kwanza government to be heckled by members of the public who are agitated by the ruling regime.

Earlier on Friday, Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika experienced a similar reception during a funeral held in Bibilioni village, Bahati Constituency where her words were drowned out by loud boos.

Susan Kihika, a close ally of President William Ruto, elected under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket was booed by angry mourners who refused to allow her to read Ruto’s condolence speech.

Reportedly, Kihika was sent to deliver President Ruto’s condolence message in honour of the late Henry Gachie,  the brother to  Bahati MP Irene Njoki.

Kihika delivered her speech smoothly until she revealed to mourners she also had Ruto’s message but efforts to subdue the crowd were met with more boos and antigovernmental chants.

This comes amid the ongoing process to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachaua which has not been well received in the Mt Kenya bastion.
