Kirinyaga University student Evance Akoko was fatally stabbed to his death after an altercation between his entourage and bodaboda riders, it has now been revealed.
News of Akoko's death emerged on Tuesday, November 19, although details surrounding his passing remained scanty.
The fourth-year University student, whose real name is Sospeter Onyango Osungo was stabbed and hacked several times by a Kirinyaga University student Evance Akoko, popularly known as Billionaire Akoko, was fatally stabbed to his death after an altercation between his entourage and bodaboda riders, it has now been revealed.
News of Akoko's death emerged on Tuesday, November 19, although details surrounding his passing remained scanty.
The fourth-year university student, whose real name is Sospeter Onyango Osungo was stabbed and hacked several times by a mob.
According to reports, Akoko, who hails from Siaya County, answered an invite from a friend in Kibera and arrived at the slums in the company of a man and woman.
Reports further claimed that Akoko offered to buy all revellers at a joint within the slums drinks before proceeding to a different club where a popular Ohangla musician was performing.
It was at this club that a commotion ensued between Akoko's entourage and some bodaboda riders incensed by something that the Kirinyaga University student said.
During the attack, the lady who accompanied Akoko to the club also sustained serious injuries but managed to escape with her life. The driver also escaped and informed police of the harrowing incident.
Confirming Akoko's death, Nairobi Police Commander Adamson Bungei said that no arrests have been made, although a manhunt was underway to nab the bodaboda riders involved in the killing.
Meanwhile, Akoko's body has since been moved to the morgue where it is awaiting autopsy.
In the wake of Akoko's death, images and videos have emerged on social media showing the seemingly lavish lifestyle he lived before meeting his tragic end.
On social media, the deceased tended to consistently share his recreational endeavours which included nights out and road trips, painting a picture that he had accumulated a lot of wealth.
Notably, his death came just months after another Kirinyaga University student - Dennis Oduor Otieno alias "Denno Bright" - was found dead in a Mombasa apartment after reportedly collapsing following an eventful night out.
