A company has put 15 cars up for auction, inviting members of the public to place bids. Among the vehicles, a Subaru Impreza is available for as low as Ksh 394,232.
Jaffery Motors, a motor vehicle sales company based in Mombasa, announced this auction through a notice published in the Gazette on November 22. This auction follows previous notifications sent to the owners of the listed vehicles, which went unanswered.
“Notice is issued pursuant to the provision of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the laws of Kenya, in respect of the underlisted motor vehicles,” the notice read.
Jaffery Motors went on to give the original owners an ultimatum notifying them of the allowance period that they still have to reclaim their cars.
“The owners/depositors of the said motor vehicles are hereby notified that the custodian shall proceed with the sale and disposal of the same unless the amount stated against each motor vehicle and any other lawful cost is paid to the custodian within (90) days from the date of this notice,” the gazette informed.
