Footage has emerged shedding light on what might have transpired before Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, a Nakuru business lady, was allegedly attacked by her partner.

On Tuesday, November 25, the National Police Service confirmed that Elias Mutugi Njeru, a pastor with Jesus Compassion Ministry Church, turned himself in at Nakuru Police Station.

Accompanied by his lawyer, Njeru surrendered on Monday morning, pending a transfer to the Menengai Police station.

His arrest brought an end to a wave of uncertainty over his whereabouts amid outrage over the stabbing of his partner Wanjiku at their home in Rongai, Nakuru.

Hours after turning himself in, CCTV footage emerged of Njeru and Wanjiru in an altercation, hours before news of the latter's stabbing went viral.

In the footage dated November 21, the victim is seen next to the couple's company vehicle talking to a security guard.

The footage then cuts to the parking area of a building, where Njeru is seen arriving in a white Toyota Prado. He is then seen engaging with a security guard briefly before things take an unexpected turn.

From a different angle of the CCTV footage, one of the company's cars -  a Toyota Succeed- emerges and rams onto the rear side of Njeru's car. This act incenses Njeru, who springs on the driver of the other car in an attempt to stop them.

The two have a brief physical altercation before the driver of the Succeed attempts to reverse the car with the driver's door open and Njeru beside it.

The suspect, Njeru, can then be seen jogging towards the car where he has a brief engagement with the driver before walking back to his car and driving away.  Footage ends with the Succeed driver still in the car, which was badly damaged on the front side as a result of hitting Njeru's car.

While narrating the incident, the victim, Wanjiku, detailed the circumstances leading up to the assault. According to her, a conversation about their business and personal issues ultimately led to the brutal attack.

Wanjiku further claimed she had made attempts to end their turbulent relationship, but the pastor was not keen on a separation.

The incident has since garnered nationwide attention, with figures including Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru condemning Njeru's acts amid growing concern over the rising cases of femicide in the country.

Njeru's lawyer Gakuhi Chege revealed on Monday that the suspect presented himself to authorities to aid in investigations.

"We wish to assure the members of the public that the suspect who has been named in the incident is being detained awaiting investigations. He is ready and willing to cooperate with authorities to determine the events which happened on November 21.
