The government has announced vacancies in senior management positions in four public universities in Kenya.

In a notice published on November 25, the Public Service Commission (PSC) advertised vacancies at the Open University of Kenya, MultiMedia University of Kenya, Kenyatta University and Meru University of Science and Technology.

In the Open University of Kenya, the PSC advertised a vacancy in the position of Vice Chancellor and two vacancies in the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs and Planning and Infrastructure.

In the MultiMedia University of Kenya, the PSC notified the public of two vacancies in the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation– Administration, Finance and Planning.

Kenyatta University and Meru University of Science and Technology both have vacancies in the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor– Administration and Finance and Administration, Finance and Planning respectively.

While urging interested and qualified persons to apply, PSC informed the public to visit the Commission’s website in order to access details of the posts as well as the mode of application.

PSC emphasised that the applications should be sent on or before Tuesday, December 17, 2024, latest 5:00 pm (East African time).

Further, the government announced 38 job vacancies at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM). The vacancies are spread over the teaching and administrative areas of the university. Teaching vacancies stand at 18 while administrative vacancies are 20.

Of the 18 teaching vacancies, ten are in the lecturer position, four are in the senior lecturer position, three are for the role of associate professor, and one tutorial fellow. 

The job opportunities span the areas of communication studies, social and clinical sciences, management science, hospitality and tourism. In addition, teaching vacancies are available in the areas of medical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. The tutorial fellow vacancy is in the Institute of Maritime and Seafaring.

The administrative job opportunities extend to the area of procurement, office administration, nursing office, ICT office, maintenance, IT support office, and the counselling department.

Interested and qualified persons in the TUM vacancies have been advised to submit their applications on or before Tuesday, December 9, 2024. Applicants have been informed to send their applications only through the TUM online portal.
