The body of a young man who was reported missing last week has been located in the Eastleigh Section III area.

Arafat Mohamed went missing on Friday, November 29, with his family immediately taking to social media to announce his disappearance.

Initially, the deceased's cousin claimed his last known whereabouts were at a swimming pool in Kimathi. Days later, the missing person's aunt confirmed his body had been discovered around the Bahati area.

According to the aunt, the last time the deceased was seen alive, he was approached and picked up by an unnamed man.

"On Friday, he told me he was going to the mosque," the deceased's aunt narrated, "Later, my boys who were with him told me a man much bigger than them picked him up."

The family attempted to file a missing persons report on Saturday but were informed they could only do that if the victim had been missing for more than 72 hours.

The victim's aunt claims he was fairly new in Nairobi, having recently come to the city from his Mandera. He was in Nairobi for the holidays.

According to the aunt's account, the deceased was bleeding from his ear, and his body showed cut marks and other scars, indicating he had been physically assaulted before his demise. The victim's body has since been moved to the City Mortuary.

This was the latest case of an apparent homicide in the Eastleigh area, coming just weeks after the nation came to terms with the unfortunate deaths of three family members at the hands of the same man.

In November, Hashim Dagane Muhumed was arrested in connection with the murders of a mother, her daughter, and her niece, whose bodies were discovered in different locations in the city.

The suspect was detained for 21 days as investigations into four murders, including one involving body parts dumped in the Lang'gata cemetery, rage on.
