Students, teachers, and staff at Riara Springs Girls’ High School were elated following the release of the 2024 KCSE results.

The school proudly reported an impressive performance, with 11 A plains, 15 A-, 28 B+, 26 Bs, 12 B-, and 16 C+, resulting in an outstanding mean score of 9.2.

The top student was Crystal Nyakio Mutura, who achieved an A grade with 84 points. The results indicated a 93.1 per cent university transition rate for the class of 2024.

This was a remarkable improvement from 2023 when the school got a mean score of 8.96.

Riara Springs Academy and Riara Springs Girls’ High School are schools under the umbrella, of Riara Group of Schools (RGS), founded by renowned scholars Mr. Daniel and Dr. Eddah Gachukia.

The 2024 KCSE results were released by Education CS Julius Ogamba at Mitihani House. While breaking down the numbers, the CS noted that 965,512 candidates registered for the examinations; 480,310 were male while 482,202 were female.

A total of 1,693 candidates attained grade A, 7,743 scored A- and 19,150 scored B+. Overall, 246,391 candidates attained C+ and above and therefore qualified for direct entry into university.

Out of the 30 subjects examined, 17 recorded an improvement from last year’s results. The subjects were Mathematics Alt. A & B, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History & Government, Geography, IRE, Agriculture, Woodwork, Metalwork, Drawing & Design, Aviation Technology, Computer Studies, Kenyan Sign Language and Business Studies.
