One person died and two others were left injured at Kinungi along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway just 12 hours after another accident left 16 injured at the same spot.
On Sunday morning, St John Ambulance confirmed the crash which involved a pickup that rammed into a truck during the Saturday night accident.
The ambulance service's first responders quickly arrived at the scene, rescued the injured,, and transported them to the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
"One person was killed on the spot and two others injured in yet another road crash at Kinungi, less than 12 hours after the last accident left 16 casualties. The incident involved a pickup that rammed into a truck at Kwa Makara, Kinungi along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, adding to the growing toll of road carnage in the area," part of the St John's Ambulance statement read.
"The St John Ambulance First Responders braved the cold night to provide first aid, ensuring the injured were taken to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. Road safety must be a priority!"
Images shared by St John Ambulance showed the badly damaged pick-up truck that had rammed into the truck from the back.
Just 12 hours earlier, 16 people were injured in an accident at the same spot when a personal car collided head-on with a matatu.
"Head-on collision at Kinungi Soweto involving a personal car and a matatu leaves 16 casualties. St. John Ambulance Kenya said that the volunteers responded swiftly, providing lifesaving first aid before rushing to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital," a statement by St John Ambulance read.
The saloon car's front end also caved in after the accident, and the matatu's front right-hand side also sustained damage, as seen in images seen by Kenyans.co.ke.
Most of the damage was on the driver's side bumper and door. The 16 who were injured were also quickly rushed to the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
Earlier in the day a helicopter crash also claimed the lives of two people after it crashed and burst into flames in Voi.
"Two people lost their lives after a light aircraft crashed and burst into flames in Ikanga village, Voi. St John Ambulance responders, police, and firefighters responded to the incident. Our deepest sympathies to the families affected," the statement read.
