The High Court has given the green light for the auctioning of properties belonging to the Senior Presidential Economic Council advisor, Moses Kuria.
The ruling was made by Justice Aleem Visram on Monday, April 7, who determined that Kuria had failed to repay a loan he had taken years ago.
According to reports, the properties include an apartment block in Ruaka and Juja in Kiambu County.
The properties were put up for sale by an auctioneer, Garam Investment Ltd, and are set to be auctioned on Tuesday, April 8.
The determination by the courts follows a legal battle in which Kuria attempted to halt the process, citing attempts to repay his loan.
According to the auctioneers, Kuria had been notified multiple times about the unsettled debt and the auction before the parties took the matter to court.
According to Visram, Kuria did not table sufficient evidence to stop the auctioning, stressing that financial obligations must be honoured.
Kuria's residential buildings are among several residential properties across the country that have been put up for auction.
In various notices published by local dailies today, auctioneers across the country have put up houses worth billions of shillings for sale.
In Nairobi, a six-storey residential property, identified as Genesis Apartment, located in Embakasi South, is among the buildings that have been put up for auction. Additionally, another penthouse known as the Green House at Adams Arcade has been listed.
In Kiambu, a two-bedroom bungalow free leasehold property has been put on sale in the Muguga area of the county. While in Runda, a four-bedroom maisonette.
Additionally, in Mombasa, five five-storey buildings situated approximately 11.6 kilometers from the Mombasa central business district were also put up for sale through auction.
