In a gazette notice published on Thursday, April 17, Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome announced the appointment of Irene Kyatu and Daido Aragon as members of the Ad hoc committee for delineation of the boundaries in Wang’uru and Sagana.

Others who were also appointed to the same committee include Ezra Ng’ang’a, Peter Kariuki, Peter  Muraguri, Francis Muriithi, Richard Warui Kariuki and Millicent Nkatha.

According to the lands minister, the aforementioned appointments would take effect from March 1, 2025. She, however, did not mention their period of service.

In a separate announcement, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor appointed Teresia Wanjiku as the Registrar of Societies. Wanjiku's appointment was gazetted yesterday, despite commencing her work on April 4, 2025.

The Registrar of Societies primarily oversees the registration, regulation, and monitoring of various types of cooperative societies, including the cancellation of societies and changes of names.

Teresia was tasked with ensuring that societies operate within legal frameworks. She was also mandated to conduct inquiries, inspections, and facilitate dispute resolution within societies.

To further strengthen government operations within counties, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii also made a series of appointments. He appointed Kottut Kipkemboi and Victorine Kapkiai to the Departments of Water and Economic Planning, respectively.

Bii also appointed Elphas Kesio and Mary Kerich to the Department of Agriculture and Department of Energy, respectively, while Eunice Suter was appointed to the Department of Social Protection.

Additionally, he appointed Edward Lelgo and Kenneth Muskiton as County Commissioner and Kenya Forest Service (KFS) official, respectively, while Ruth Kemboi was appointed as a representative of the Farmers Association.

The latest announcement comes barely a week after several cabinet secretaries made appointments to their ministries to strengthen various key government institutions.

Some notable appointments were made by Education CS Julius Ogamba, who appointed Parmain ole Narikae and Carren Kerubo as members of the University of Eldoret and Karatina University Councils, respectively.

He also appointed Asteri Angolo to be a member of the National Biosafety Authority for three years from April 11, 2025.
