CSs Mbadi, Duale, Ogamba & Kagwe Make Fresh Appointments to Govt

Cabinet Secretaries across various ministries have made fresh appointments in a move aimed at streamlining operations within their dockets.

According to a gazette notice published on Friday, March 28, Treasury CS John Mbadi appointed Thomas Gichuhi and Ben Kajwang as members of the Board of Directors of the Policy Holders Compensation Fund.

While announcing their appointments, Mbadi stated that the two individuals would work as members of the Fund for three years, effective Friday, March 28.

At the same time, Education CS Julius Ogamba appointed Dickson Andala as the Chairperson of the selection panel for the recruitment of the Board of the National Commission for Science Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI).

Andala was designated alongside Daniel Mugendi, who was appointed as a member of the selection panel. However, CS Ogamba noted that the selection panel would be dissolved once the members of the board are appointed.

In his announcement, the Education Minister also appointed Fuad Abdalla to be a member of the governing Council of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) for three years, effective March 28, this year.

Additionally, Ogamba appointed Halima Saado Abdillahi to be a member of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) Placement Board for three years.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen also made six notable appointments. He appointed Jemimah Akinyi, Hussein Bakari, Edwin Wanjohi, Nancy Muthoni, Solomon Kibet, and Susan Mugambi to be members of the Firearms Licensing Board for three years. 

In the Ministry of Health, CS Aden Duale appointed Roselyn Munga to be a member of the Social Health Authority (SHA) for three years, effective March 28, 2025. 

While announcing the appointment of Munga to the government position, the former Environment Minister revoked the appointment of Zakayo Kariuki Gichuki.

Similarly, Duale appointed Harisson Wangoro to be a member of the Board of Kenya BioVax Institute Limited for three years, starting March 28 this year.

Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe appointed Tabitha Lagat to be a member of the Tea Board of Kenya for three years beginning March 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, Labour CS Alfred Mutua appointed Anne Owour to be a trustee of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees for three years.
