Former Wajir West Member of Parliament, Ahmed Kolosh, has joined the list of politicians who have lost children this year after he lost his daughter.
Following the news of the demise, Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho issued an official statement to condole with the former MP's family.
''With a heart weighed down by sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences to my brother and friend, Hon. Ahmed Kolosh and his entire family, following the untimely death of his beloved daughter,'' the CS wrote.
Joho shared the pain with the family, describing the loss of a child as a sharp pain piercing through the heart.
''Losing a child is an unimaginable grief that pierces the soul, and there are no words that can truly ease the pain. In this moment of profound sorrow, we can only pray that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, envelops you with peace, grants you strength and comforts your hearts," the CS continued.
Other leaders, including the chair of the Council of Governors, Ahmed Abdullahi, and leaders from North Eastern, have joined the CS in condoling with the family.
''I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to my brother, Hon. Ahmed Kolosh, his beloved wife, and the entire family on the heartbreaking loss of your daughter,'' Abdullahi wrote.
"I convey deepest and heartfelt condolences to Hon. Ahmed Kolosh and his family following the profoundly saddening loss of their beloved daughter. This is an unimaginable tragedy that no parent should ever have to endure," Eldas MP Adan Keynan wrote.
Details of what caused the death are yet to be revealed.
Kolosh was initially elected as the Wajir West MP under the Jubilee Party in the 2017 general elections.
However, after losing his seat in 2019, he switched allegiance to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and won back his seat in a by-election.
Kolosh is the second politician to lose a child within two months after Dagoretti MP Beatrice Elachi lost her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya, on March 25.
Murakana passed away after sustaining injuries in a severe road accident and was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Nairobi Hospital.
