All illegal immigrants who fail to self-deport from the United States will face five additional punishments beyond automatic deportation, President Donald Trump has announced.
The president made the remarks while signing an Executive Order establishing the country’s first-ever self-deportation program, which allows undocumented immigrants to voluntarily register and leave the country before being apprehended by authorities.
According to the directive, those who fail to comply will face severe penalties, including wage garnishment, where their income is entirely withheld, lengthy prison sentences, hefty financial penalties, and confiscation of all assets.
Other consequences include incarceration and sudden deportation at a time, place, and manner determined solely by the U.S. government.
"However, if illegal aliens choose to remain in America, they are remaining illegally and they will face severe consequences and punishments," Trump announced.
This means that Trump's administration will be withholding individuals’ entire paychecks, leaving them with no income. They will also be subjected to heavy fines, which could amount to thousands of dollars for refusing to self-deport.
All their properties and assets, including homes, vehicles, and businesses, will also be seized.
Those caught violating immigration laws could be detained indefinitely in federal facilities before deportation.
Finally, the government will deport them to their countries in very harsh conditions, and the U.S. does not guarantee that the offenders will be deported to their respective countries.
"As long as it is not here, they can go anywhere they want," the U.S. president revealed.
Trump assured the aliens that if they willingly self-deport, they would be granted free flights, a self-deportation bonus, and the US could even go further to help them come back to the country legally after some time.
According to Trump, when the country is officially done with deporting the aliens, the US will save trillions of dollars.
All the illegal aliens have been advised to register for self-deportation through the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home application, which was launched in March to facilitate the process.
