The popular Christ Is The Answer Ministry (CITAM) church on Sunday, May 25, dedicated their newest sanctuary located in Buruburu, Makadara constituency.
The momentous service which marked the church's 18th anniversary saw thousands trickle in to occupy the 4,300-seater sanctuary, with some reports stating that at least 5,000 congregants were present.
In promotional posters seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the megachurch collaborated with the cab-hailing service Uber to offer discounts of up to 50 per cent for trips to and from the event.
"Celebrate Citam Buruburu New Sanctuary Dedication tomorrow, Sunday, 25th May 2025, in style with Uber. Use Promo code: BURU18. Enjoy 50 per cent off two trips of up to Ksh250 per trip to & from Church," the posters read.
Among the prominent people present at the dedication ceremony was Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa, who shared images, speaking to the congregation.
"What a joy it was to fellowship at CITAM Buruburu, in my constituency, Makadara, during the dedication of their new sanctuary, marking 18 years of God's faithfulness! Congratulations on this remarkable milestone!" he stated.
The congregation moved into their new sanctuary on May 18, as the CITAM Church marked 18 years of service, ditching the tents they previously fellowshipped in for their new digs.
Reportedly, this church building project was the first beneficiary of a campaign dubbed "Together in Generosity", with a target of Ksh2.5 billion to settle 24 assemblies in Kenya that still worship in tents.
Considered among the richest churches in Kenya, CITAM has 35 assemblies under it, with 31 based in several parts of Nairobi County and four based outside the country. It also reportedly operates 10 schools, including PAC University.
The church's financial records for the year 2024, which are available to the public, showed that it had made an overall income of KSh 2.4 billion.
This income included all the branches, with CITAM Valley Road taking the lead with Ksh404 million, followed closely by CITAM Woodley with Ksh253 million.
CITAM Karen followed with Ksh215 million, then CITAM Thika Rd with Ksh146 million, CITAM Buruburu with Ksh127 million and CITAM Ngong' with Ksh104 million in that order. The other branches contributed to the remaining Ksh1.15 billion.
