Kenyan investigative journalist, Dennis Okari, has transitioned into the finance world after announcing his latest role as FundedNext’s official partner for Africa.
His move marks a significant shift for the journalist who has spent over two decades uncovering graft and exposing injustices in Kenya through his investigative journalism.
Okari made the announcement about the shift in an official social media post revealing that he is currently in South Africa, where he is spearheading efforts to build a financial empowerment platform for Africans.
"I'm excited to announce that I’ve officially joined Funded Next as their official partner – Africa Region. I'm in South Africa, and we’re building something powerful for Africans," the statement read in part.
FundedNext is a proprietary trading firm that provides traders with funded accounts, allowing them to trade without risking their own capital. The firm has gained popularity among African traders, offering high-profit splits, flexible trading conditions, and fast payouts.
The renowned journalist has been off the screens for over two years now, with his last role being on NTV Kenya (Nation Media Group) where he was a senior investigative reporter, editor, and news anchor for eight years before leaving in December 2022.
Before that, the journalist had briefly worked at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) before returning to NTV in 2015.
Earlier in his career, he was a news anchor and reporter at K24 and Standard Group, where he also worked with KTN and KTN News, another leading Kenyan media house.
His journalism career has brought him widespread recognition and numerous accolades while also placing him in high-risk situations due to the explosive investigative reports he has uncovered and aired.
His investigative background, known for exposing financial scandals, is expected to bring transparency and credibility to his new role in the trading industry.
FundedNext’s expansion into Africa comes when forex trading and digital finance are gaining traction among young entrepreneurs.
Following the announcement of his career shift, Kenyans flooded Dennis Okari’s social media, showering him with congratulations and heartfelt wishes for success in his new role.
