Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has announced new appointments, introducing new leadership to key state agencies within his ministry as part of a broader strategy to enhance service delivery.
The CS on Friday, May 30, appointed Wilberforce Odhiambo to be a member of the Board of Directors of Consolidated Bank for three years, beginning June 3, 2025.
He also reappointed Kenneth Gatheru to be a member of the same board for the next three years. Gatheru was first appointed to the Board in 2023 by President William Ruto alongside four others.
Odhiambo and Gatheru, who are now part of the Bank's Board of Directors, will be responsible for the governance of the Bank and are committed to ensuring that its business operations are conducted in compliance with the law.
Besides Mbadi's appointments, Tourism CS Rebecca Miano also made two notable appointments to her ministry, appointing Nicanor Sabula and Fred Kaigua to serve under her docket.
Kaigua and Sabula were appointed by Miano to be members of the Tourism Regulatory Authority board of directors for three years, effective May 30, 2025.
Meanwhile, Mbadi's latest appointments come barely a week after he appointed Monique Mukayagi to be a member of the Board of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis.
He made the appointment alongside other CSs who also announced significant changes to their ministries. Among the CSs who have made a raft of appointments to their dockets recently are Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe and his Education counterpart, Julius Ogamba.
A week ago, Kagwe appointed Malika Omar, Geoffrey Wachira Mahinda, Manyone David and Patrice Chumba to be Nyayo Tea Zones Development Authority members for three years.
He also appointed Kenneth Mburu, Joshua Koskei, Joyce Kioko and Bernard Wakhungu to be members of the Board of the Agricultural Finance Corporation for three years.
Additionally, Kagwe announced the appointment of Paul Munyiri Kaguamba and Milton Luchiri to be members of the Board of Directors of the Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya.
On the same note, CS Ogamba appointed Adan Hassan to be a member of the Council of the North Eastern National Polytechnic for three years and revoked the appointment of Rashid Kassim.
