Five companies have announced mass auctions of uncollected goods, primarily motor vehicles and motorcycles, along with other miscellaneous items.
The companies include Hariki Auctioneers, Rariga Traders Auctioneers, Fancy Friends Auctioneers, Markys Auctioneers, and Windsor House Auctioneers.
In a gazette notice dated June 27, the companies urged owners of the goods specified in the notice to claim their property before the stipulated deadlines by settling all outstanding charges. Otherwise, their goods will be disposed of at a public auction.
Windsor House Auctioneers, which manages auctions for uncollected goods at Pangani, Ngoliba and Kyumbi police stations, has listed uncollected items at the stations, including motor vehicles, motorcycles, aluminium electrical wires, scrap metal and bicycles.
The auctioneer informed the owners to collect their property within 30 days from June 26, 2025, upon payment of publication costs, to avoid the public sale of their goods
Hariki Auctioneers announced that it will be disposing a Mercedes-Benz at Blue Shine Motors Yard in a public auction, tender, or private treaty, if the owner fails to collect it in 30 days from June 17.
It added that during the collection, the owner needs to pay for all accumulated storage charges, interest, publication costs, and other incidental costs
Fancy Friends Auctioneers also listed 49 motor vehicles from several auto garages, urging the owners to collect them 30 days from June 11, 2025. It informed the owners that payment of all accumulated storage and incidental costs is required for collection.
Rariga Traders Auctioneers, on the other hand, announced that it will be auctioning a Toyota Prado at the Concorde Motor yard in Mombasa in 30 days from June 18, 2025, if the owner fails to collect it.
It added that the collection requires payment of repair costs, accumulated storage charges, interest, publication costs, and any other incidental costs.
Several items, such as motorcycles, motor vehicles, bicycles, electronic appliances, household items, mechanical equipment, and other miscellaneous goods, are listed as items to be auctioned by Markys Auctioneers.
The auctioneer stated that all items are located at the Busia police yard, and owners or custodians must collect the items within 21 days from June 16, 2025, failure to which the unclaimed goods being disposed of by public auction on behalf of the station.
