PSC Announces Vacancies For Security Officers to Man Parliament Buildings

The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has announced vacancies for up to 38 security wardens to be positioned at and around Parliament Buildings.

In a notice, the PSC has invited qualified applicants to submit their application by July 15, 2025.

According to the notice, the security wardens will be responsible for managing the operation of X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, underbelly cameras, CCTV screens, and bomb detectors to identify and apprehend criminals, if any.

The officers will also control vehicle and pedestrian access at the gates to ensure orderly entry into the Parliament building.

A successful candidates will also get to screen, vet, direct, and clear visitors to ensure that only authorized individuals gain access to Parliament, as part of their jobs. 

The new security wardens will also be responsible for searching vehicles and persons entering and exiting the Parliament precincts.

Additionally, the wardens will maintain the Occurrence Book and other security records to facilitate future references during investigations.

Requirements

In the notice, the qualified candidates must possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) with a minimum of D+ and must have served in a uniformed service for not less than 3 years.

A requirement for direct appointment is that a candidates must have completed a parliamentary training within any of the uniformed services.

The notice urged applicants to submit a duly completed Parliamentary Service Commission job application form, cover letter, copies of academic certificates, and testimonials.

Applicants are to download the form from the parliamentary portal page or obtain a form from the office of the head of the commission's secretariat at Parliamentary Buildings.

PSC stated the form can be sent to their email or be hand-delivered to the office of the head of the commission secretariat.
