The Social Health Authority (SHA) has flagged a job alert circulating on social media platforms purporting that the authority is recruiting employees.

The Health Authority, in a brief statement on Friday afternoon, dismissed the allegations, terming them as fake and misleading.

The misleading post indicated that SHA was advertising over 14 job categories, including human resource officers, social workers, office assistants, and cooks.

Others were accountants, auditors, storekeepers, drivers, ICT officers, Security officers, cleaners, mobilizers, health facilities representatives, procurement officers, and compliance managers.

It bore all the SHA-branded colours and the government seal, all well designed to dupe unsuspecting Kenyans of their hard-earned money.

To further mislead and con Kenyans, the poster directed interested applicants to submit their applications by the close of business on July 7, 2025.

Applicants were required to have a minimum of a degree, diploma, and certificate from a respected University. It further lured applicants by stating that all the jobs advertised in that post were permanent and pensionable, except interns.

“Apply for one position to avoid disqualification,” read the fake poster adding that applicants must possess KRA, SHA, NSSF, and identification card.

This is not the first time scammers have used SHA job advertisement posts to lure Kenyans. In April this year, several Kenyans took to social media to lament after being scammed by fake SHA recruiters.

The incident forced the Ministry of Health to quickly intervene and clarify, further urging Kenyans to be vigilant of such unverified notices.

Such scams have in recent months gained prevalence in Kenya, with the conmen targeting Kenyans who seek white collar jobs in senior positions within government institutions.
