The incident marks the second time this year that a patient has been murdered at the hospital under unclear circumstances.
In February, another patient was found murdered inside the hospital after being fatally stabbed by an unknown individual on the night of Thursday, February 6.
Initial reports blamed the incident on a security lapse, claiming that an unidentified individual entered Ward Seven and fatally stabbed the patient with a kitchen knife.
"We are deeply saddened to confirm an incident involving the tragic death of a patient at the Kenyatta National Hospital," the CEO said.
"The hospital is working closely with law enforcement authorities and has launched an internal investigation to determine the facts surrounding this incident," he added.
