The Ministry of Roads and Transport, through its State Department for Roads, has launched a recruitment drive, opening up numerous opportunities for qualified Kenyans across various roles.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, July 29, the State Department for Roads officially invited applications for over 200 positions.
“State Department for Roads invites applications from qualified persons for various positions at the State Department,” the notice reads.
The vacancies span a diverse range of technical and support staff, including essential roles such as housekeeping assistants, drivers, cooks, and waiters. Additionally, the department is seeking proficient plant operators and various artisans to contribute to its extensive road construction and maintenance projects.
In the notice, the advertised positions range from job group CSG 13 to CSG 15, and the deadline for submitting applications is August 22, 2025.
Some of the roles with the highest number of vacancies include Housekeeping Assistant III with 27 positions, Cook III with 23 positions, and Security Warden III, also with 23 slots.
There are also 16 vacancies for Artisan Plant Mechanic III, and 15 for Artisan Auto Electrician Mechanic III.
Other available jobs include Driver Instructor III, Plant Operator Instructor III, Waiter Assistant III, Artisan Tailoring III, Artisan Upholsterer III, and Driver II (Light and Heavy Commercial).
Interested applicants are urged to complete Public Service Commission Form 2 (Revised 2016), which is available to download from the PSC website.
Applicants will need to complete the form and either send it by post to the Principal Secretary at the State Department for Roads, Ministry of Roads and Transport, P.O. Box 30260, Nairobi, or hand it in at the Human Resources Management registry on the 5th floor of Transcom House.
