Primate Ayodele, the Nigerian prophet known for accurately predicting President William Ruto’s 2022 election win, has advised Rigathi Gachagua to support whichever candidate the Gen Z generation chooses in the 2027 elections and drop his own presidential ambitions.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, noted that only Gen Zs would be able to unseat Ruto, urging Gachagua to direct his resources towards candidates supported by Gen Zs.
He noted that Gachagua’s ambitions for the house on the hill would be futile, as his former boss would go above and beyond to win the polls.
He explained that it is only the Gen Zs that can remove Ruto, and anyone who does not have their support will not make any meaningful impact in the election.
“Kenya: the former deputy president coming to contest will not yield anything. Ruto is going to use all his power to return to his seat, even if he has to rig. It is only the Gen Zs that can get him out by bringing out a candidate,” the priest noted.
“Gachagua should not contest; let him support whoever the Gen Zs want to support for the country to move forward,” Ayodele added.
His message comes after Gachagua vowed to contest for the Presidency in the upcoming polls, an announcement that sent ripples within the United Opposition.
After making the announcement, Gachagua revealed that his first act if elected would be to abolish the housing levy, hand over existing housing projects to the county, and compensate Kenyans whose contributions had been deducted.
It came as many had foreseen that the United Opposition would front a pairing of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Jubilee candidate Fred Matiang’i, with Gachagua acting as kingmaker.
Before the 2022 polls, the renowned pastor had predicted a first-round victory for Ruto, noting that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Ruto’s main competitor at the time, was going to be floored by Ruto.
"Without rigging, William Ruto will become Kenya's next president and will make the country better for the people. Of paramount importance is that he should employ a new strategy and work more on Mount Kenya, the youth, and women," he said at the time.
The man of the cloth, who had been blasted for making false prophecies, added that he received instructions from God which he made public for Ruto to consume.
