Nairobi, Kiambu and Nakuru Among Regions to Experience Rain This Week - Kenya Met

The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged residents in five counties alongside Nairobi to brace for more rain and cold conditions this week.

In its weekly forecast, the department said that the counties of Nairobi, Nakuru, Kiambu, Bungoma, Turkana, Kakamega, will experience continued rain between Tuesday, September 30, and Saturday, October 4.

Sunny conditions are expected throughout the week in the morning in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi counties. However, showers are expected in a few places in the afternoon during this period, as well as on Friday and Saturday nights, with cloudy conditions forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

In the next five days, the maximum temperatures in these counties are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum temperature will be 7°C.

Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties will experience rains and showers accompanied by thunderstorms both during the day and night during this period.

The maximum temperatures during this period are predicted to be 32°C, while the minimum temperatures will be 8°C.

It is predicted that daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions will prevail in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, in the next five days.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 32°C, while the minimum temperature will be 11°C.

Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, will experience day-long sunny intervals and cloudy conditions during the night, in the next five days.

These counties are expected to experience a maximum temperature of 32°C and a minimum temperature of 20°C.

According to the forecast, the North-eastern part of the country, including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties, will experience day-long sunny intervals and cloudy conditions during the night for most of the week.

The maximum temperatures in these regions are expected to be 39°C, while the minimum temperature will be 14°C.

The Northwestern part of the country, which includes Turkana and Samburu counties, is expected to experience showers accompanied by thunderstorms both during the day and night. The maximum temperatures are expected to be 37°C, while the minimum temperature is set to remain at 8°C.
