Kenya Editors Guild Appoints Linda Bach New CEO as Rosalia Omungo Exits After Eight Years in the Role

Veteran journalist Linda Bach has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Editors Guild, taking over from Rosalia Omungo on October 16, 2025.

The outgoing CEO, Omungo, has served in the role for the past 8 years.

“Kenya Editors Guild is pleased to appoint Linda Bach as our new CEO, effective 16 Oct 2025. We thank outgoing CEO Rosalia Omungo for 8 years of exemplary leadership and wish her well,” part of the notice reads.

Announcing the changes, KEG President Zubeidah Kananu praised Omungo’s achievements during her time in the Guild and wished her well. She also congratulated Bach on her new appointment as CEO, expressing confidence in her ability to drive the organisation forward.

“Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and we are confident that her leadership will drive the organisation forward,” Kananu said.

“We sincerely thank Rosalia for her sterling role in steering KEG and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” she added.

Before her appointment, which was announced on September 29, Bach was serving as a Council Member at Print Media on the KEG executive council.

She also worked at the Standard Group, where she had roles as Quality Assurance Editor.

She has over 15 years of experience as a journalist and has worked in Media Council of Kenya and Kenya Editors Guild.

She holds  Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's Degree in Education (English and Literature) from Kenyatta University.

KEG also announced the appointment of Andy Kagwa, Council Member – Print, following the elevation of Linda Bach to CEO.

Millicent Awuor was also appointed as the chairperson of the Programmes Committee, a role that was also held by Bach.
