Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has criticised Nyali lawmaker Mohamed Ali alias Moha Jecho Pevu over his association with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, warning that the move could mark the beginning of the end of his political career.
In a statement on his official X account on Saturday, September 4, Sudi claimed that the Nyali lawmaker has always been an opportunist, wondering what the former DP is offering to the legislator.
According to Sudi, the Deputy President, is incompetent to mentor other younger politicians since he has never demonstrated wisdom in his political career.
"I wonder how Gachagua, who failed to advise himself, can now purport to mentor Mohamed Ali. The problem with Ali is that he thought when we formed this government, he'd get a place to get free money, unaware that the government has its procedures," Sudi stated.
The statement by Sudi came hours after the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader said that he had held engagements with the lawmaker to mentor him in his political career.
Gachagua, who labelled Ali as a "young, talented leader whom I am mentoring," claimed that his knee injury, which required him to undergo multiple surgeries in the past year, has crippled his ability to serve the residents of his constituency effectively.
"I thank God for healing my great friend Hon Mohamed Ali, aka Jicho Pevu, who has struggled with a serious knee injury for almost a year after multiple surgeries, denying him the opportunity to effectively serve the people of Nyali Constituency," Gachagua stated.
"It was great to spend my Saturday with Moha catching up from our days in the 12th parliament. Moha is one of the young, talented leaders whom I am mentoring," he added.
Gachagua said that the MP's political ideas will play a key role in mobilising the coastal region to ensure that it is liberated from the political and economic mismanagement which, according to him, has plagued the region for decades.
"The people of the Coast Region are hard-hit by the effects of economic mismanagement and the collapse of the education and healthcare systems by Kenya's saboteurs. This pain and anguish will come to an end on the ballot in August 2027," Gachagua stated.
Ali has not stated whether he has officially joined the DCP, or the meeting was simply that, a meeting. If he has changed his allegiance, then he adds to the growing list of legislators within the ruling UDA to defect.
