Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has not been admitted at the Karen Hospital, despite reports circulating on social media, Kenyans.co.ke can confirm.
Karen Hospital Director Dr Dan Gikonyo exclusively clarified the developments after harrowing reports surfaced on social media claiming Oburu Odinga was rushed to the facility hours after his brother, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's death.
The reports suggested that the 82-year-old, Oburu Odinga, was overwhelmed by news of his younger brother's death and was subsequently rushed to the renowned Karen facility.
However, the hospital, through its director, refuted the claims, categorically stating that there was no record of the Senator getting admitted at the facility on Wednesday, October 15.
"This is just to confirm to you that Hon Oburu is not in Karen Hospital," Dr Gikonyo told Kenyans.co.ke.
Raila passed away on the morning of Wednesday, October 15, after suffering a cardiac arrest during a morning walk in India.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 9:52am Indian time, according to a spokesperson for the hospital.
In the hours after news of Raila's death went public, several high-profile leaders, including Oburu Odinga, were spotted at Raila's Karen residence alongside tens of other civilians who were intent on joining the family in mourning.
Images and videos of Oburu in Karen showed the Senator in a sombre mood, but there were no suggestions that he was unwell.
The other notable family member present at the Karen residence on Wednesday was Mama Ida Odinga, the late Raila's wife, who also appeared distraught as she attempted to address the media but was overwhelmed by an excited crowd of staunch Raila supporters.

Reports indicate that in the final moments of Raila's passing, the former Prime Minister was in the company of his sister Ruth and daughter Winnie Odinga.
A delegation of more than 30 Kenyan leaders, led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Mudavadi, has since embarked on the trip to India to facilitate the repatriation of Raila's body.
This is after President Ruto announced the government of India was in talks with Kenya on the repatriation of the former PM.
Raila's body is expected back in Nairobi by the morning of Thursday, October 16, ahead of a procession to his native Bondo on Friday.
