Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's social media accounts will henceforth be managed by the RAO Foundation, an organisation recently established to preserve the legacy of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader.
Following the takeover, Odinga's X bio was updated on Thursday, October 30, reflecting the changes in the management of the page, which boasts nearly 5 million followers.
The foundation is expected to use the account to honour Raila’s legacy and continue promoting the values he championed throughout his political career.
"This page is managed by The RAO Foundation in honour of the legacy of the Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, CGH. Father, Prime Minister, Enigma, Hero, Baba. 1945-2025," the bio read.
Odinga's social media pages will be used to share his memories and clips of his advocacy for democracy and a peaceful nation. It will also be used to champion human rights.
While the former Prime Minister boasts 4.9 million followers on his X page, the deceased also has over 2.3 million followers on his Facebook page.
The ODM party leader's last post on his X account was a retweet of his son, Raila Odinga Junior's post, in which he shared footage of his installation as the head of the Odinga family.
Similarly, Raila's last post on his Facebook page was on October 3 this year, when he shared footage of his meeting with the management of Gor Mahia Football Club.
The latest move forms part of the religious changes to fill the vacuum left by the former Prime Minister, who passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after suffering cardiac arrest.
The changes include the ODM party leadership switch, with the deceased's elder brother, Oburu Odinga, taking over the role as the new interim party leader.
The ODM party's Central Management Committee on October 27 endorsed Oburu as the new party leader, a unanimous decision that was reached following a closed-door meeting held by the Committee members.
Following Oburu's takeover, the party also agreed to continue working with President William Ruto's administration until 2027, as a fulfilment of the broad-based agreement reached in March this year between President William Ruto and Raila.
