Three Companies in Nairobi and Machakos Announce Public Auction of Vehicles, Motorcycles, Household Items

Three auctioneers, two in Nairobi and one in Machakos County, have announced an auction of vehicles, motorcycles and other household items.

In a gazette notice dated October 31, Startruck Car Yard Storage announced that it will auction motorcycles, tuk-tuks, and trucks remaining uncollected at its yard within 30 days.

Brands of vehicles and motorcycles include FH, Tata, Mazda Familia, Toyota Probox, Isuzu EFL, Hino, Toyota Land Cruiser and SkyGo.

"Suppose the owners of the vehicles are interested in reclaiming them. In that case, they will be required to pay accumulated storage charges, together with interest and costs of publishing the auction, as well as any other incidental costs, to reclaim them," the notice read.

"The vehicles shall be disposed of either by public Auction by Green Bells Auctioneer, Idge House, 3rd Floor, Munyu Road, P.O. Box 9626-00300 Nairobi, tender or private treaty, and proceeds of the sale shall be defrayed against all accrued charges without any further reference to the owners," the auctioneer said.  

On the other hand, Taylor Matthews Limited said that it will dispose of furniture, electrical appliances, décor, cutlery, utensils, beddings, clothes, paintings, portraits, and other commercial items if owners fail to reclaim them within the next 30 days.

The items are lying at the company's premises on Emerald Business Park (Kutch Road), Syokimau, and will be sold through public auction or private treaty. Interested owners have been encouraged to pay all outstanding charges for they to reclaim the items.

"The said items will be sold either by public auction or private treaty, and the proceeds of the sale shall be defrayed against any accrued storage charges, and the balance, if any, shall remain at the owner’s credit, but should there be a shortfall, the owner shall be liable thereof," it stated.

Bellway Auctioneers has been given a green light by the Oilers Auto Garage to sell two motor vehicles that are lying unclaimed at the garage along Changamwe Road, within the next 30 days.

Owners of the two vehicles have been encouraged to also pay all the outstanding storage charges; failure to which the vehicles shall either be auctioned or sold through private treaty.

"The vehicles will be sold either by public auction by Bellway Auctioneers, Upperhills Spring Mara Road, Nairobi or private treaty and the proceeds of the sale shall be defrayed against any accrued storage charges and the balance, if any, shall remain at the owner’s credit, but should there be a shortfall, the owner shall be liable thereof," the notice read.
