The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged residents of Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang'a among other regions to brace for more rain this week.
In its weekly forecast, the weatherman noted that Counties, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale, Nakuru, and Machakos, will receive increased rain between Tuesday, November 11, and Saturday, November 15.
Daylong showers and rains are expected to hit a few places in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties during the forecasted period.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 30°C, while the minimum will be 07°C.
Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, will also experience rain during the day and night for most of the week; it will, however, be a little bit warmer than the aforementioned areas.
According to the forecast, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 34°C, while the minimum will be 14°C.
Showers will hit a few places in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, during the day, according to the forecast, apart from Friday afternoon and the whole of Saturday, when it is expected to be sunny. Cloudy conditions will prevail in these areas during the night throughout the week.
During this period, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to hit 33°C while the minimum will be 23°C.
Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties are set to experience rains and showers accompanied by thunderstorms on Tuesday, Thursday afternoon and night, as well as Friday afternoon and night.
Daylong sunny intervals will prevail in these areas on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Morning, and the whole of Saturday.
The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum will be 09°C.
Daylong sunny conditions will be experienced in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. It is, however, expected to rain on Wednesday and Thursday throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 38°C and the minimum of 17°C.
According to the weatherman, daylong showers are expected to hit some parts of Turkana and Samburu counties throughout the week, apart from Saturday, when it is expected to be sunny. The maximum temperature in these areas will be 33°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 23°C.
