In the wake of the just-concluded nationwide by-elections, Malava parliamentary candidate Seth Panyako and his Kasipul Counterpart Philip Aroko have broken their silence.

This is after both DAP-Kenya's Panyako and Independent candidate Aroko lost in the by-elections held on Thursday, November 27, this year.

In a statement dated Friday, November 28, Panyako fiercely contested the results of the mini-polls, alleging electoral malpractice in 54 polling stations despite what he described as commanding victories in 134 out of 198 stations.

He criticised the government for allegedly instigating chaos in Malava in what he claimed was an attempt to intimidate him and his supporters into giving up on the elections.

"We won in 134 out of 198 Polling stations, but still they managed to manipulate and subvert the will of the people. They used 54 polling stations to manipulate the elections," Panyako said.

Panyako went ahead to express gratitude to his supporters, commending them for remaining loyal even in the face of intimidation and threats to his life.

"Thank you, my Malava people, your love and trust in me have been steadfast. But to those who subvert your will, judgment awaits them. Despite chaos against us and attempts on my life, you stood firm," he added.

The DAP-Kenya candidate, however, maintained that the outcome of the by-elections would not determine his political journey, emphasising his commitment to continue to pursue regional politics.

"I have not lost this election, and therefore, it cannot determine my political future. Thank you once again," Panyako stated.

On the other hand, Philip Aroko, who contested the Kasipul Constituency by-election, issued a heartfelt message to his supporters, thanking them for their immense support throughout the election period.

In his statement, Aroko described the journey as a 'testament to commitment,' noting that despite the challenges faced, the people’s passion made every step worthwhile.

"To my cherished constituents and supporters both in Kasipul and across the nation, I extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude for your true love and support," Aroko stated.

Adding, "This journey has been a testament to your commitment, and while the path has been challenging, your spirit has made every step worthwhile. I was truly moved by the extraordinary passion and profound concern you exhibited."
