Several motorcycles and motor vehicles are set to be sold at public auctions after their owners failed to collect them within the timeline required by law.
In three separate gazette notices, licensed auctioneers announced plans to dispose of uncollected goods under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38), warning owners that the auctions will proceed once the statutory notice period lapses.
The notices were issued by Kerati Auctioneers, Fancy Friends Auctioneers, and Windsor House Auctioneers, acting under court authority and statutory provisions to dispose of items that were lying idle at police stations and private storage facilities.
Under Gazette Notice No. 18350, Kerati Auctioneers announced the intended auction of unclaimed motorcycles currently held at Migosi Police Station, following authority granted by the Principal Magistrate’s Court at Winam in Miscellaneous Application No. E125 of 2025.
The auctioneer directed owners and custodians to collect the motorcycles within thirty (30) days from the date of publication. However, owners would need to pay the cost of publishing the Gazette Notice. Failure to settle the publication cost would result in the items being sold through public auction without any further reference to the owners.
The motorcycles listed by Kerati Auctioneers include Boxer (5), Honda (2), TVS (2), Sanya (1), and Sonlink (1) motorcycle models.
In a separate notice, Gazette Notice No. 18351, Fancy Friends Auctioneers issued a warning to owners of uncollected motor vehicles lying at Autogari Kenya Limited to take delivery within 30 days.
The vehicles listed by Fancy Friends Auctioneers include KBX 923T (BMW), KBW 950G (Nissan Sylphy), KBY 101L (Subaru Forester), KBT 910U (Discovery 3), KDK 236T (Daihatsu), and KCP 165X (Subaru Outback).

Meanwhile, Windsor House Auctioneers, through Gazette Notice No. 18352, announced plans to auction uncollected motorcycles and other items stored at Nzambani Police Station, following the authority granted in Miscellaneous Application Case No. E205 of 2025 at the Principal Magistrate’s Court in Kitui.
The listed items include motorcycle brands such as three Skygo motorbikes, a Honda motorcycle, a Boxer bike, three motorcycle scraps, and one bicycle scrap.
The auctioneers cautioned that once the notice period expires, the items will be sold through public auction in accordance with the law, urging owners to act promptly to avoid losing their property permanently.
