Raphael Tuju Accuses Raila's Team of Using Donald Trump-like Method

The Jubilee Party has accused the Opposition led by Raila Odinga of employing tactics used by US President Donald Trump, in its bid to win the upcoming August 8 elections.

While addressing a press conference, Jubilee's Secretariat leader Raphael Tuju indicated that the consistent claims of a plan to rig the upcoming elections could be a ploy by the opposition to hoodwink the public.

Tuju cited the case of President Trump who kept on accusing the government of rigging the polls in favour of his rival Hillary Clinton only for it to emerge that he could have colluded with foreigners to manipulate the polls in his favour.

The Jubilee secretariat leader claimed that as the Opposition is discrediting the ongoing voter registration by the IEBC, they could be busy employing the same tactics allegedly used in the US.

The former journalist further dismissed Odinga's claims that different agencies were aiding the Jubilee administration in getting a high number of voters in the ongoing exercise.

“Let them get their act together and stop blaming everyone including the National Intelligence Service (NIS). These are bodies which are not political and hence cannot defend themselves. If anyone wants NIS to answer them then I doubt their credentials to become President,” he stated.

He added that Jubilee had written to the electoral body to seek clarification on some of the queries being raised by the Opposition maintaining that there was no need of discrediting IEBC.
