Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi Reveals Details of 2 Attempts on His Life

Popular Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi claimed that the Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro had made good his alleged death threats and attempted to kill him twice.

Ahmednasir alleged that the DCI boss attempted to kill him in early March but did not succeed as the lawyer had travelled abroad.

According to the lawyer, the second attempt apparently took place on March 12 after a meeting with a client.

He claims that after the meeting, he was followed by a group of detectives but the attempt was fortunately unsuccessful.

"I have reliably learnt from credible sources within the police service that, on that night, a car with four Criminal Investigations Department officers trailed me immediately I left the hotel on my way home," he asserted.

He added that he reported to the Kilimani Police Station that two police officers attached to the DCI had been following him looking for an opportunity to end his life.

The lawyer renewed his call to the Inspector General Joseph Boinnet for the matter to be investigated by an independent team.

Through his lawyer Dennis Mosota, the senior counsel accused Mr Muhoro of planning to blame a group identified as "Russian Mafia" for the alleged murder attempts.

"It is now upon the investigators to discharge their responsibility objectively," the lawyer warned.
