2 Men Arrested in Tana River During Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Recruitment

A youth seeking to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) was on Thursday arrested in Tana River over body marks inscribed on his thighs and legs.

The inscriptions allegedly indicated the amount of money he was ready to bribe the officials with in order to sail through the process.

Lieutenant Colonel Kyalo Munyao, the Senior Recruitment Officer at the Hola Stadium centre, confirmed the reports adding that a second man had also been arrested for forging details on his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) document.

The two who are being held at the Hola Police Station will be charged with forgery and attempting to entice the recruitment officers.

Colonel Munyao affirmed that the station would not be recruiting ladies following instructions from Kenya Army commanders.

"Ladies will be catered for in other sub counties. We have instructions to take only males in this sub county," the officer conveyed.
