Amani National Congress to Replace Officials Implicated in Corruption Scandal

A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) officials affiliated to the Amani National Congress (ANC) are set to be fired over corruption allegations in the concluded nominations.

This is after the party admitted that its officials engaged in malpractices and compromised the credibility of the party primaries.

The officials are accused of collecting hundreds of thousands of shillings from aspirants, promising to give them party tickets.

Sources also revealed to a local daily that some of the aspirants extended sexual favours to the officers in an attempt to secure the desired ticket.

Jubilee Party has also been implicated in the scandal after being accused of issuing money to the ANC officials for them to field weak candidates in the August 8 General Election, hence making it easier for the Jubilee to win the elective seats.

The party Secretary General, Godfrey Osotsi, has now directed all branches to initiate appropriate legal action to replace the officials and update the party as it moves to sort out the mess.

"We are a democratic party and by this action we’re not punishing the truant officials but releasing them to pursue their political persuasions at this critical time." Osotsi stated.
