ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi Reveals How NASA Will Get 10 Million Votes

Amani National Congress(ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday explained that the National Super Alliance (NASA) had put in place a plan where all coalition Principals will man five strategic regions to ensure high voter turnout.

Mudavadi stated that the strategy would also see the five principals venture into perceived Jubilee strongholds and raid votes in the areas so as to acquire their 10 Million strong targets in the upcoming elections

“We’ll have our teams in a round-robin move-around manoeuvre to cover the whole country. You’ll be surprised how our in-tray is overflowing with creative ideas from Kenyans of all levels and status. They’re volunteering ideas and their time. Ours is a people driven campaign,” he explained.

According to Mr Mudavadi, the campaign team would have NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga take charge and have direct supervision of Nairobi, Luo Nyanza, parts of Western and Coast regions.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, on the other hand, will oversee Eastern and parts of Coast while Bomet Governor Issac Ruto would take charge of Rift Valley as Senator Moses Wetang’ula handled parts of the Western region.

The former Presidential candidate further explained that NASA the coalition had recruited enough grassroots support in the last few weeks to propel them to victory.

“We are taking no chances with protecting the vote, we have the Adopt-a-Polling-Station strategy in place. We are setting up the logistical support systems for this strategy. It includes ability to tally at the polling station and transmit it instantly. A well-resourced directorate will oversee this task alone,” he stated.

Last week, the opposition unveiled their campaign team that will be chaired by Mudavadi assisted by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

Prof. Willis Otieno was appointed head of the technical team whereas Economist David Ndii and civil society activists and scholars Zein Abubakar, Adams Oloo and Oduor Ong’wen were appointed directors of the campaign team.

Norman Magaya former Executive Director of the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) would be the head of the secratariat. The coalition is expected to officially launch its campaigns in Kakamega on June 3.
