Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Unveils Linda Shuma as Running Mate

Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar on Monday unveiled his running mate for the county’s governorship race as hotelier Linda Shuma.

At a press conference held at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa, Senator Omar stated that he had settled on the hotelier businesswoman in his bid to unseat the incumbent Governor of Mombasa, Ali Hassan Joho.

Omar exuded confidence that his choice of running mate would be decisive in winning the August 8 polls and would precipitate a revolution of change in the county.

Ms Shuma is the president of Lions Club Mombasa, Bahari branch, renowned community empowerment initiator and entrepreneur.

She started a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with interests in Education and mentoring, community library and scholarships as well as several catering management businesses.

Her appointment comes ahead of an expected announcement by Governor Joho who has reportedly formed a committee to scout for a potential running mate.

“I’ve already decided and will make it known to the public soon. I’ll let you know. It’ll be a big event,” said Joho to journalists last week.

Jubilee aspirant Suleiman Shahbal has settled on Annaniah Mwaboza, while Hezron Awiti picked Hassan Mwatoa
