3 Students Arrested For Burning Dormitories at St Mary's Genius Girls Secondary

Three students were arrested on Tuesday and charged with burning two dormitories to ashes on Sunday night at St Mary's Genius Girls Secondary School in Dundori area, Nakuru County.

The girls were arrested after police officers conducted a thorough interrogation on students at the school owned by the Presbyterian Church.

The incident occurred at 7:30 pm causing destruction to property of unknown value.

Locals who responded to the incident claimed they could not put out the fire as the flames were too fierce.

Nakuru North Divisional Police Commander Edward Masibo noted that police officers were conducting thorough investigations before charging the suspects.

This comes after a student died on Friday night following a fire that swept through a dormitory at Barkowino Secondary School in Bondo, Siaya County.

The fire broke out shortly after the students retired to bed.
