Senator John Njoroge Accuses DP William Ruto of Intimidating Jubilee Leaders

Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge has accused Deputy President William Ruto of using dirty tricks to neutralise politicians who are a threat to his 2022 presidential bid.

Addressing a press conference in Naivasha, the controversial Senator claimed that Ruto was locking out leaders especially from the Central region to ensure they would not pose a threat in the 2022 race.

According to Njoroge who is vying for Nakuru governorship on a KANU ticket, the DP had a hand in the Jubilee nominations where several seasoned politicians lost.

The Senator further claimed that Ruto was using government agencies to intimidate politicians who have previously been opposed to his style of leadership.

“We saw that senior politicians from Central and Rift Valley who are opposed to Ruto were rigged out of the just concluded Jubilee primaries as part of the ongoing plan,” he stated.

He reiterated his earlier statement that Ruto should not be guaranteed support from the Central region after the end of President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure.

Njoroge has on several occasions criticised the Deputy President and even blamed him for his decision to quit the Jubilee Party for KANU.

In 2016, he called on the DP to resign accusing him of being linked to the infamous National Youth (NYS) Scandal in which Ruto's Personal Assistant was mentioned.

At the same time, he was involved in a violent confrontation at his Petrol Station in Naivasha, shooting at Vivo Energy CEO Polycarp Igathe.

Despite being nominated by Jubilee, he ditched the party and later launched his Nakuru governorship bid.
