Post-mortem Results Reveal Children of James Ratemo were Strangled Then Drowned

A post-mortem report has revealed how three children of James Ratemo, a KANU MCA candidate for Kapsoya Ward in Uasin Gishu, were tortured to death.

The medical examination conducted on Thursday disclosed that the three minors had been strangled before being drowned.

According to the results, the bodies of the deceased had injury marks on the chest and necks indicating that they had been strangled then dumped in River Nzoia where they were recovered a week ago.

The examination conducted at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital indicated that the minors lacked enough air in their lungs, further supporting the strangulation results.

The three, Clifford Nyambane (six), Dan Nyamweya (five) and Glen Ongagi (three) were to be buried on Friday but the family failed to seek approval for the ceremony.

Experts performing the examination led by Kibet Keittany stated that the exercise had faced some difficulties due to the state of the bodies which were decomposing.

The children's lifeless bodies were discovered floating in the river last week after they went missing while on their way to a church service a week earlier.

An uncle to the three children has since been arrested and arraigned in court on allegations of being involved in the brutal murders.
