Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo Claims That Sabotaging His Cousin Raila Odinga Could End His Marriage

Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has revealed that his marriage could end if he does not support National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate and his cousin Raila Odinga

In an audio recording by The Star, Midiwo is heard explaining that his wife would chase him from home if he ever sabotaged the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader.

"We [independent candidates from Nyanza] are all Raila supporters. I would rue the day I even dream of sabotaging a Raila movement even my own wife would chase me away from home, even my mother would not allow me into our home," the parliamentarian asserted.

Commenting on Mr Odinga's recent remarks regarding independent candidates, the former ODM politician insinuated that they were motivated by a need to keep businessmen with ill-will against the party at bay.

He added that the difficulties experienced within the NASA coalition are the makings of an outsider who was planning to take power from the presidential candidates.

Midiwo, who left the opposition party, had issued a strong warning indicating that Raila's supporters wouldrebel against him after the ODM nominations failed to favour him.

"We will not kneel before ODM disputes tribunal for redress on bungled elections. If we don’t get the certificates by today evening, we are going to fight for our rights as independent candidates," he stated.

Midiwo ditched ODM to defend his seat as an independent candidate after he lost the primaries to Elisha Odhiambo.
