NASA to Pay Kenyans Above 70 Years Sh3500 Monthly Stipend After August Election

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has declared that the Alliance will pay a salary of Sh3500 to all Kenyans above 70 years of age if it wins the August General Election.

Speaking during a rally held by the NASA team at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Odinga stated that the Opposition would strive to empower all village elders and would not do away with them.

In his speech, Mr Odinga announced that on the election day, they would ensure everyone votes adding that patients admitted in the hospitals would be carried to and from the polling centres.

The Opposition chief further urged all residents to verify their voter registration details.

The rally was meant to signal the official start of the NASA campaigns and at the same time unveil the Western Region Investment Conference that involves several programmes geared towards economically empowering the counties of Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga and Busia as well as Trans Nzoia.

The event was attended by all NASA principals including Odinga, his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford-Kenya boss Moses Wetangula and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Heavy security was deployed with Western Region Police Coordinator Moses Ombati urging all aspirants to hold peaceful campaigns and avoid disrupting normal business activities in the town.

The Kakamega meeting will be followed by a rally in Kapsabet on Sunday and Machakos on Monday.

The Opposition will then head to the Coast Region on Thursday where they will split into two groups, one covering Lamu and Tana River Counties and the other covering Mombasa and Kilifi Counties.
