Kalonzo Musyoka's Son Kennedy Musyoka Reveals Why Wiper Nominated Him to EALA

Kennedy Musyoka, the son of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, on Wednesday revealed that Wiper Democratic Movement nominated him to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) owing to his skills in consultancy and strategy development.

The young Musyoka dismissed claims that he was nominated to EALA because of his father's role in the Wiper Party.

“I have been consulting for Wiper Party for a while, something I immensely enjoy. I have been making my own contribution in strategy and I believe that is how I ended up with the nomination,” he stated.

He further disclosed that his rapport and interaction with the party members who attested to his great ideas and appreciated his set of skills could have earned him the nomination.

Kennedy, however, explained that despite having a rapport with the Wiper leaders his interview was still tough and challenging.

“I faced a panel of 23 interviewers. It was the most intimidating experience I have ever had. They went out of their way to challenge and grill me,” he highlighted.

Musyoka junior explained that his main agenda would be to represent the interest of Kenyans in the East African Community. If approved by parliament, he will be the youngest Kenyan representative to the Assembly.

Ken, as he is popularly referred to, did his high school studies at Brookhouse School after which he moved for an undergraduate degree in International Affairs, Politics and Public Policy at the University of New Castle in New South Wales, Australia.

He also has an undergraduate Law degree from the University of Nairobi where he graduated in 2014.

He has previously served at Equity Bank's legal department. Currently, Ken is the Secretary-General of the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation.

His nomination to EALA elicited a lot of reactions with many people accusing his father of nepotism.
