Kenya Signs Sh123 Million Deal with Sonoran Policy Group

The Kenyan government has hired a firm which is said to be linked to United States (US) President Donald Trump.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs entered into a deal with Sonoran Policy Group (SPG) aimed at improving the relationship between Kenya and the US.

According to reports in the American media, the country signed the one-year Sh123 Million deal on May 25 and the agreement was documented in a disclosure form.

Part of the deal involves having the lobbying firm assist “the Embassy of Kenya achieve its objectives on the issues of tourism, trade and investment.”

Despite boosting the relationship of the two countries, the company will also cement the ties between the Kenyan and American people.

“SPG will provide US congressional and executive branch brand engagement to cement and deepen relations between Kenya and the US government as well as between the people of Kenya and the US,” states documents quoted by the Nation.

Two weeks ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta met and exchanged pleasantries with Trump at the G7 Summit held in Taormina, Italy.

During the two-day Summit where Kenyatta was among the only four African Head of States invited, he made a historic address where he urged the world leaders to improve their relationship with Africa.

At the same time, President Kenyatta received a special invite from Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel to attend the G20 Summit which will be held in Hamburg.

Kenyatta will grace the conference slated for July as one of the representatives of the African Cause.
